This is a unique opportunity to purchase a piece of Austin Healey and Motoring history.
Built in 1953 as a 100/4 with a BN1 chassis number prefix.
The heritage certificate states that this was a rhd home market car finished in primer and dispatched to Mr Gallimoor in the experimental department. Where it the was extensively modified to accept Austin’s new C series 6 cylinder engine and converted to a 2+2 seating arrangement.
All the exterior body panels are unique with many special features;
The aluminium front shroud and bonnet have a more pronounced shape with unique grille.
The front wings feature chrome cooling vents reminiscent of the Healey Silverstone.
Fixed windscreen assembly
Both doors have ¼ light assemblies with wind up Perspex windows and external door handles.
Bespoke hood and frame arrangement.
Front disc brakes, very rare in the mid 1950’s.
The heritage certificate also states the car was sold as a BN4 Prototype to Mr Basil Cardew. Invoice date 19th October 1956 as “new”
The previous keeper owned the car for 20 years during this period the car was extensively restored.
Finished in Reno Red with duo tone red and cream trim, fitted with chrome wire wheels and overdrive.
This Austin Healey is reputedly only one of four prototype cars and will undoubtedly be a superb useable investment.
